About the Position: This Executive Assistant position is located at Aberdeen Test Center, Office of Commander with duty location Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience,1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, which includes: 1) Preparing or editing documents such as correspondence, technical papers, spreadsheets, or briefing charts to ensure content is accurate and; 2) Assisting with formatting documents for management review and; 3) Compling data for higher review.

This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Management, Communications, Public Adminstration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Major Duties:

  • Advise senior leadership and staff on management and administrative policies
  • Develop comprehensive plans and strategies for day to day and long-term projects.
  • Maintain senior leader's calendar to coordinate schedule with external and internal sources.
  • Review and prepare correspondence in accordance with (IAW) regulation to ensure correct format, and grammar
  • Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the organizational lead for records management; address records-related issues and provide training to those managing records; review staffing and office processes to make sure they meet the organization’s needs and are followed properly.
  • Receive inquiries and route to appropriate party.
  • Respond to inquiries from the command staff and reply in a timely manner.
  • Assist customers concerning routine actions.
  • Receive scheduled and unscheduled visitors and telephone calls from high ranking and senior level officials to include congressional, state, and local government officials.
  • Assist callers, visitors, and return calls using discretion whether or not to direct calls and/or visitors to appropriate staff members for action and follow-up; and dispose of numerous calls using discretion.
