About the Position: This position is with the Military Surface Deployment Distribution Command, Transportation Engineering Agency, Office of the Director, located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

The incumbent will serve as a specialist providing executive support to the Senior Executive Service (SES) Director.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing administrative support to senior leadership such as maintaining calendars, coordinating meetings, preparing travel arrangements, and/or assisting with correspondence preparation and review; Utilizing computer systems and software applications to create documents, track action items, and/or prepare correspondence and reports; Assisting with travel coordination using the Defense Travel System (DTS) and/or supporting government purchase card (GPC) transactions in accordance with established procedures and regulations; and/or Processing and tracking taskers or action items using automated systems, ensuring appropriate distribution and follow-up with staff members.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.

D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Major Duties:

  • Manage operating schedules and appointments for the SES Director, exercising control over calendar commitments and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Serves as alternate Billing Official managing the Government Purchase Card (GPC) program.
  • Provides administrative advice and coordination services, maintaining continuity of standard procedures supporting mission objectives.
  • Lead an executive administrative team by coordinating with staff and/or executive officers on a wide variety of technical and administrative issues.
  • Arranges all travel utilizing Travel System to include itineraries, reservations, and voucher processing.
  • Serve as lead task manager ensuring tasks are received, assigned, and closed appropriately to meet suspense dates.
  • Serves as SharePoint Site Owner, responsible for design, creation, and maintenance of content for the Directorate's portal.
  • Responsible for front-office administration, serving as an element of continuity to ensure standard and administrative procedures support mission objectives.
