Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1257000 and is part of the CO JFHQ G4, National Guard.

The purpose of this position is to provide instruction and assistance to state unit personnel regarding Army National Guard (ARNG) equipment and maintenance management.

Military Grades: E-5 thru W-2 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2.

An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. Resume must be two pages or less. 3.

It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience.

DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet.

You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 12 months of experience in each of the following: 1.

Experience which provided knowledge and skill in applying commonly used equipment, facility, or service principles and concepts. 2. Experience in the use of tools and test equipment. 3.

Experience which provided knowledge of maintenance programs and techniques. 4. Experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment design. 5.

Experience developing, installing, inspecting, or revising equipment maintenance programs and techniques.

Major Duties:

Serves as a recognized authority on the repair and operation of various types of ARNG equipment.

Provides advice, assistance, and guidance regarding maintenance management systems, material readiness programs, cost reduction programs, and maintenance shop practices in maintenance facilities.

Prepares and conducts both classroom and on-the-job training designed to upgrade, improve, and/or update the knowledge and working skills of unit maintenance personnel.

Evaluates directives to ensure adherence to standard methods, conformity in maintenance procedures, and the proper use of maintenance equipment, facilities, and personnel.

Reviews the effectiveness and efficiency of equipment and maintenance management and needs for improvement of existing practices and the impact on the overall maintenance program.

Performs hands on maintenance procedures to personnel on proper trade techniques, practices, and explains safety precautions involved in maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.
