Job Description
Summary
This job involves driving and operating heavy construction equipment to build and maintain county roads and related projects in Tarrant County, Texas.
Workers transport materials, handle traffic safety, and perform basic upkeep on the equipment.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in construction or road work who is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in tough conditions.
Key Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus two years of related work experience, or six years of related experience without diploma
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required upon hire
- Tanker endorsement required within 30 days for positions involving tank vehicles
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds and working in extreme weather
- Pass pre-employment physical exam, drug test, and background check

Requirements
1. Operates different types of specialized/heavy equipment2. Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment
3. Transports equipment and supplies
4. Maintains and controls traffic at work site
5. Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs
6. May perform general landscape maintenance
7. Performs all other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED + two (2) full-time years of related work experience. -OR-
- Six (6) full-time years of related work experience.
- A Class A CDL is required upon hire. Tanker endorsement is required within 30 days of hire for all positions that involve the operation of tank vehicles as defined by federal regulations.
- Must have basic knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
