The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, Homestead Services Division, has ONE (1) urgent vacancy.

This position requires a valid State of Hawaii issued Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B.

Requirements

Operates two or more types of motorized equipment such as heavy trucks, heavy rollers, loaders and light tractors as a major work assignment; may perform manual work tasks in connection with general construction and maintenance work; may operate graders and heavy tractors as an incidental work assignment; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work Requirement: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements:

General Experience: ONE (1) YEAR of work experience involving the operation of at least TWO (2) of the motorized equipment representative of the class equipment representative operator III (e.g. heavy motorized equipment such as trucks having a factory rated capacity of 5 tons or over, rollers of 5 tons or over, loaders, and tractors such as D-4, TD-6 and TD-9 with bulldozer blade attachments), or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Commercial Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid State of Hawaii issued Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B.

NOTE: If a copy of your CDL is not submitted at the time of application, your application will be rejected.

A valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted. If you are selected for this position, you must transfer your out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii-issued CDL prior to your employment start date and within 30 days of arriving in Hawaii. Your Hawaii-issued CDL will be verified by the hiring agency before you can start work. Please contact the Honolulu CDL Office at (808) 768-4185 for information on how to obtain a Hawaii CDL.
