Summary

This job involves driving and operating trucks and light equipment to maintain and build county roads and city projects in Tarrant County, Texas.

Workers handle tasks like transporting materials, controlling traffic at sites, and performing basic equipment upkeep.

  • High school diploma or GED (or 4 additional years of related experience as substitute)
  • Minimum of one year of related experience in equipment operation or road maintenance
  • Valid Class C driver's license required upon hire
  • Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required within eight months of hire
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Willingness to work in extreme heat, cold, and exposure to hazardous chemicals

Full Job Description

Operate equipment involved in the maintenance and construction of County roads and city projects.

Requirements

1. Operates and/or drives truck or light equipment.

2. Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment.

3. May transport equipment and supplies.

4. Controls traffic flow at work site.

5. Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs.

6. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of one (1) year related experience.
An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for a high school diploma.
A current and valid Class C driver license is required upon hire.
A Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required within eight (8) months of hire.

Additional Information

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to stoop, bend, push and pull.
May have to lift heavy boxes or objects up to 100 pounds. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
