Requirements

In this position, you will transport residents to medical appointments, treatments, transfers, and activities.

You will also pick up and deliver materials, mail, supplies, medications, and blood samples.

Responsibilities include moving materials for construction, groundskeeping, or general maintenance, as well as operating snow-removal and cinder-spreading equipment during inclement weather.

You will conduct safety checks and inspections on vehicles and equipment before use and handle minor repairs and preventive maintenance.

When not operating vehicles or equipment, you will assist with support tasks such as loading and unloading vehicles, cleaning work areas, maintaining equipment-use records and logs, and completing required forms and paperwork.

All duties must be carried out in accordance with DMVA policies and general safety guidelines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a flexible schedule which will include weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
