This job involves driving vehicles like trucks, vans, and buses to transport veterans to medical appointments, activities, and other needs at a veterans' center, while also handling deliveries, maintenance tasks, and snow removal during bad weather.
It's a hands-on role that requires reliability and a focus on safety to support those who served in the military.
A good fit would be someone with prior experience driving larger vehicles who wants to contribute to a meaningful cause in a stable government position.
Are you a skilled and dependable equipment operator ready to take your career in a more meaningful and rewarding direction?
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Equipment Operator to join the team at the Southwestern Veterans’ Center.
In this important role, you will operate a range of automotive equipment, including single-chassis trucks, passenger vans, and buses, to ensure safe, reliable transportation for the veterans we proudly serve.
If you are motivated to advance your career while making a genuine difference in the lives of those who have served our nation, we encourage you to apply today and become a valued member of our vehicle and equipment operations team.

In this position, you will transport residents to medical appointments, treatments, transfers, and activities. You will pick up and deliver materials, mail, supplies, medications, and blood samples.
Responsibilities include moving materials for construction, groundskeeping, or general maintenance, as well as operating snow-removal and cinder-spreading equipment during inclement weather.
You will conduct safety checks and inspections on vehicles and equipment before use and handle minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
When not operating vehicles or equipment, you will assist with support tasks such as loading and unloading vehicles, cleaning work areas, maintaining equipment-use records and logs, and completing required forms and paperwork.
All duties must be carried out in accordance with DMVA policies and general safety guidelines.
