The Department of Human Services is seeking a motivated and energetic Equipment Operator A to join our transportation and grounds team at Clarks Summit State Hospital.
In this vital role, you will operate a range of medium-weight, single-chassis vehicles and maintenance equipment both on and off hospital grounds, supporting critical hospital programs, services, and daily operations.

In this position, you will operate facility equipment and light- to medium-duty vehicles (trucks, vans, buses) in compliance with safety regulations to support transportation, maintenance, construction, and seasonal snow and ice removal.
Responsibilities include performing excavation, repair, and installation work for utilities, roads, sidewalks, and landscaping using tractors, backhoes, skid loaders, mowers, chainsaws, forklifts, and related equipment.
You will restore sites to the original grade after construction, remove trees and stumps, and maintain facility grounds.
Additionally, you will provide patient and group transportation, conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, prepare and operate snow-removal operations, and instruct staff on equipment use.
You will also effectively prioritize tasks and adapt to changing work demands to meet deadlines.
