Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping manage equal employment opportunity issues in the Navy, such as handling complaints about workplace discrimination, mediating disputes, and ensuring accommodations for employees with disabilities.

It supports both informal discussions and formal processes to resolve sensitive problems fairly.

Key Requirements

GS-11: $77,964 - $101,359 GS-09: $64,438 - $83,774 For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing facts, identifying problems, and recommending corrective or other appropriate action in relation to any of the following Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program areas: EEO Complaints Management, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), or Disability Program/Reasonable Accommodation (RA) to resolve sensitive and complex cases.

For the GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: collecting and organizing facts and data, interpreting basic laws, regulations, and policies relating to EEO Complaints, Disability Program/Reasonable Accommodation (RA) issues or Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in support of complex case resolution.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide case management services to customer activities responsive to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Navy regulations.
  • You will perform intake with aggrieved individuals to obtain information regarding the matters they wish to raise with an EEO Counselor.
  • You will provide advice and guidance to Human Resources (HR) specialists and activity management on sensitive and complex issues relating to workplace disputes and/or EEO complaint processing during both the informal and formal stages.
  • You will support in the development and execution of strategies, procedures, and guidance for implementation of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) initiatives for customer activities.
  • You will provide advice, analysis, and assistance in all stages of Reasonable Accommodation (RA) processing.
  • You will develop and implement innovative methodologies and processes for effective management and processing of requests for RA.
  • You will develop, implement, evaluate and improve processes and procedures to monitor the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity relating to EEO programs.
