As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for independently managing complex engineering projects that ensure municipal, residual, and hazardous waste disposal, processing, and storage facilities operate at the highest technical standards.
You will conduct environmental assessments and technical reviews of Waste Management permit applications for a wide-range of facilities in order to evaluate the overall design and facility concepts to assure completeness, adequacy of design, mechanics of operation, and adherence to departmental standards and guidelines.
Additional duties entail preparing permit documents for applicants, calculating closure and post-closure bond amounts, and providing technical assistance for compliance issues relating to solid waste regulations.
You will also perform inspections of facilities that are under construction to ensure compliance with the quality assurance plan and permitted design, operating facilities, and facilities that are conducting closure activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
