Base salary range: $51,332 - $66,732
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-8. Master's degree or 2 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as an engineering technician at a naval observatory in Arizona, where you'll maintain and operate machinery, fix electrical and mechanical systems, and help upgrade astronomical instruments used for sky observations.
It's a hands-on role that requires technical skills in tools and equipment, along with comfort working at heights and managing small purchases.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
