Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading engineering efforts for the design, construction, and testing of Virginia-class submarines, focusing on non-propulsion electronic systems and coordinating with teams to manage risks, schedules, and technical issues.
A good fit would be an experienced engineer or scientist who enjoys directing complex projects in a naval defense setting and has a background in applying advanced technical principles to real-world challenges.
It's ideal for someone detail-oriented with strong leadership skills in high-stakes environments.
You will serve as Chief Engineer in the Program Management Office of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.
The ND-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level ND-03 (GS-09/11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer or Scientist applying advanced theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods of engineering, mathematical science, or computer science to define, organize, or direct engineering processes and project efforts related to the VIRGINIA Submarine Platform Design and Construction and associates Non Propulsion Electronic System components.
