**This position will be in the office for training, then may have the opportunity to telework occasionally (up to two days), if eligibility requirements are met.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
In this position, you will be responsible for the appraisal investigations and managing Division investigators, who investigate potential violations of the Utah Statute and Rules.
Most cases are complaint-driven and assigned to an investigator's case load. Your duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Appraisal Investigation: Conduct thorough reviews and investigations of appraisal complaints to ensure compliance with Statute and Rules as well as USPAP.
Receives, researches, and responds to incoming questions or complaints; provides information on policy and procedures, and/or facilitates a resolution.
Quality Management: Oversee a team of investigators, including hiring, determining workload, and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
Interdepartmental Coordination: Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between DRE Enforcement, Licensing, and internal Commerce divisions to align regulatory objectives.
Regulatory Liaison: Act as a subject matter expert on policy, providing guidance on complex appraisal issues, emerging industry trends, and provide guidance through the investigation process.
Recommending, advocating, and implementing new or changes to existing policies and procedures, and laws or regulations.
Operational Compliance: Evaluates operational workflows and systems through regular reviews to ensure efficiency and adherence to established policy and standards.
Educational Development: Create and deliver training material, presentations, newsletter articles to educate staff, management, licensees, and/or the general public and industry members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Active UT Licensed appraiser within the last 5 years.
3 years of appraisal field experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel or the Google equivalents (Docs and Sheets).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Residential Appraisal License.
5 years of experience in the Appraisal Industry.
Management Experience.
Educational Training Experience within the Appraisal Industry.
Experience as a Mortgage Broker or Loan Officer.
Experience as a Real Estate Agent.

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.
Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.
Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
Paid Time Off:
Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).

Valid driver's license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per UCA53-3-202(1)(a).
