This Energy Industry Analyst position is located in the Office of Energy Market Regulation.

You must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level.
Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in leading teams and/or conducting analysis regarding complex issues related to the regulation of the electric utility markets and tariffs (e.g.
energy and capacity markets, generator interconnection proceedings, transmission planning and cost allocation issues, major rulemakings, and cost of service issues).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.

As an Energy Industry Analyst, some of your typical work assignments may include: Conducting technical and policy analysis of tariff, rate, and market rule matters and keeps the Commission abreast of various developmental and operational issues.
Coordinating the resolution of multi-faceted and complex problems and issues raised during the process of preparing and reviewing electric market and policy decisions.
Independently preparing and supporting well-reasoned technical recommendations related to the electric utility industry and ensures the timely completion of written results of high quality.
Leading, mentoring, and coordinating teams of economists, engineers, accountants, and attorneys in conducting integrated technical, legal, and policy analyses.
Ensuring analytical rigor, consistency, and completeness of team outputs, and serving as a technical reviewer to validate complex work products and resolve conflicting expert perspectives.
