Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and managing responses to emergencies like natural disasters, fires, or chemical incidents in a Navy installation setting, including running an operations center and training staff.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Creating an emergency management plan in accordance with federal, state, local, and command rules and regulations; 2.

Developing policies and procedures in response to emergencies (i.e. chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, fire, natural disasters); 3. Maintaining an emergency operations center (i.e.

maintaining equipment, developing budget submissions; implementing training, etc.); 4.

Analyzing emergency management incidents and responses to determine appropriate responses and/or areas for improvement.

  • You will coordinate emergency management command and control functions to maintain effective operations of an Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
  • You will coordinate the inventory, storage, and maintenance of emergency management equipment and supplies.
