recruiting for full-time Eligibility Technician 2 located in
Anchorage, Alaska.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Eligibility Technician 2, you are responsible for providing timely and accurate eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations for Title IV-E and Medicaid programs on behalf of children in the state's custody. You will perform independent case work, including conducting interviews, to identify and obtain the documentation that is required and necessary to determine eligibility. You will ensure continuous monitoring of cases, with thorough examination of reported or anticipated changes, which may potentially affect eligibility. You will identify, research, and resolve inconsistencies and discrepancies to reach an appropriate determination or redetermination of eligibility.]

Working Environment You Can Expect
This position is located in the Anchorage Regional Office in mid-town off Tudor Road and is within walking distance to several amenities. The incumbent can expect daily interactions with division and department staff via telephone, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or in person.

Requirements
One year of entry level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska;OROne year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.
Substitution:Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).
Qualifications
At time of interview applicant is requested to submit:- A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial are acceptable but must include the institution name/URL on documents provided) if required to meet minimum qualifications.
- A list of three (3) professional* references including daytime telephone numbers and email address; at least two (2) of these must be from a current or former supervisor.
- Professional is defined as a supervisor or an individual who has direct knowledge of your work performance.
