Job Duties:
The Eligibility Specialist I is responsible for the accurate and timely sorting/processing of all incoming mail, to include but not limited to, SNAP and TANF applications and/or annual, semi-annual, tri-annual recertification documents received in the Office of Economic Services' Centralized Scan Center.
Additional responsibilities include accurate and timely scanning, registration, and assignment of all incoming mail into the State's Office Scanning Application (SCOSA).
In addition, this position will provide assistance for the processing/registration of online SNAP/TANF applications.
- Responsible for sorting and routing incoming annual and semi-annual re-certifications and appropriate documentation.
Ensures the proper registering, scanning and assigning of documents entering the Centralized Scan Center daily.
Paper documentation will be processed and reviewed for overall image quality and accuracy.
Paper documents will be scanned into the statewide Documentation system (SCOSA) and assigned to the appropriate folder indicating county/worker assignment.
- Ensures timely and accurate registration of all online SNAP/TANF applications submitted/assigned to the Centralized Scan Center.
- Conducts mail processing to include stamping and re-routing mail received in error back to the county or origin or the customer.
- Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of scanning equipment.
- Performs emergency disaster management services to include but not limited to Red Cross sheltering and Disaster SNAP. Performs other related duties as required

Requirements
A High School Diploma and three (3) years experience in clerical, administration, Social Work, correctional administration, or general business administration OR an Associate Degree and one (1) year experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business.
A Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
