The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a work leader over a crew of Electroplaters, providing guidance and varying degrees of repair knowledge/experience in the application of various different Electroplating processes.
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-3700 Metal Processing Family.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability To Lead Or Supervise.

Protections from exposure to burns, scalds, and skin irritations often requires the workers to wear uncomfortable safety equipment such as rubber gloves, rubber aprons, goggles, face shields, or respirators.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Provides guidance and passes on to other workers the instructions received from the supervisor, gets work started, by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led.
Works as an expert to analyze, troubleshoot and perform all aspects of the shop.
Performs the full range of electroplating work including operations that require plating or treatment of limited or precisely defined areas on parts.
Incumbent consults with supervision/training leaders in order to maintain an awareness or training needs and requirements, the objects to be accomplished and the instructional methods to be used.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
