Full Job Description

You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEMS DIVISION (CODE 290), ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT (CODE 200) of the NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing electronics support services in the performance, operation, maintenance, repair and modernization for ships combat readiness; AND coordinating and developing schedules for full combat systems alignment.

  • You will be responsible for providing technical and engineering services in the performance, operation, maintenance, industrial depot level repair and modernization, system testing and certification.
  • You will provide technical direction on matters pertaining to combat system alignment and associated processes.
  • You will develop reports and information papers on tools and processes involving the construction and delivery of weapon system adaptation data as well as end-to-end system testing needed to verify alignment parameters.
  • You will take action to resolve technical problems, usually consisting of multiple engineering disciplines including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronics.
  • You will develop detailed schedules and cost estimates identifying required hours and material required to support repairs and/or modernization.
