Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as an electronics technician at a naval shipyard, where you'll guide the repair, installation, and testing of communication, radar, and electronic countermeasure systems on ships like submarines and carriers.
You'll troubleshoot problems, prepare technical documents, and coordinate with teams to ensure projects stay on track.

You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200), Combat Systems Division (Code 290), Exterior Communication, RADAR and ECM (Electronic Counter Measures) Branch (Code 293) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience using electronics method, techniques, procedures, and or policies sufficient to provide comprehensive management advisory and technical services on a full range of design, operation and repair techniques for various types of Exterior Communication, RADAR and ECM systems associated with carriers, submarines, shore station systems and other surface ships.
Experience installing and operating electronic/electrical systems sufficient to identify, evaluate and recommend appropriate solutions to resolve complex interrelated problems and issues.
Experience in engineering aspects unique to nuclear powered submarines and carriers, including a working knowledge of special interface and control requirements associated with accomplishment of total ship/system engineering and design work, specifically Nuclear Propulsion Plant (or Reactor Yard) cognizant compartments, systems and component boundaries.
Experience working with related engineering fields including structural and mechanical to permit understanding and communication.
Experience monitoring cost, schedule, setting work priorities, performance, and actions to correct negative trends through knowledge of Project Management Fundamentals., alter priorities based on workload and identify project specific events and milestones.
