This job involves repairing and maintaining complex electronic systems on submarines, especially communication equipment, by troubleshooting issues, modifying components, and ensuring everything meets safety and performance standards.
Workers in this role research technical plans, test and calibrate gear, and sometimes train others on procedures.
It's a good fit for hands-on technicians with experience in electronics who enjoy detailed problem-solving in a military or naval setting.
You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC in the WEAPONS REPAIR DIVISION, COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS, EXTERIOR COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS REPAIR SHOP of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Ability to repair, align, and adjust major integrated electronic components, systems, and subsystems comprising submarine exterior communications systems; understand and predict the progressive effects of malfunction throughout the interrelated subsystems; utilize a variety of instructional methods to teach safety precautions, work sequences, technical specifications, and other trade practices consistent with the objectives to be accomplished; read and comprehend technical, diagnostic, operational, and electronic repair manuals, schematic circuit diagrams, formulas, one functions diagrams, and the ability to trace the effects of changes in one subsystem to other integrated subsystems.
