This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical systems in industrial settings.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required.
However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician ~ without more than normal supervision.
Assist with installing industrial electrical systems, circuits, equipment and controls and apply knowledge of work methods to assist in accomplishing assignments.
I can utilize hand tools and test equipment and recognize symbols and markings on plans, layouts and specifications - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Requires frequent walking, kneeling, climbing, bending, and working in strained and cramped positions, lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts. Working Conditions: Works indoors and outside shops and buildings.
Subject to severe weather conditions and elements in emergency situations. Subject to chemical and steam burns. Subject to heat prostration from ovens, steam equipment, and heat-treating equipment.
Danger of falling from scaffold, ladders, catwalks, cranes, buckets, and roofs of heights in excess of 30 feet. Subject to dust, chemical, gas and various fumes, electrical shock, and/or burns.
Work requires use of personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, half/full face respirators, dusk masks, safety glasses, and shoes appropriate to the work are and work performed.
