This job involves installing, inspecting, maintaining, and operating electrical and electronic systems, with a focus on traffic signals and street lighting for the city's public works department.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in electronics or electrical work who is comfortable using tools, performing physical tasks, and working flexible hours including weekends.
It's ideal for a reliable team player who can guide less experienced workers and ensure safe equipment operation.
Provides for installation, inspection, maintenance and operation of electrical and electronic equipment, devices and circuitry.
Skills and knowledge are typically acquired through a HS Diploma or equivalent , 2-year Associates degree in Electronics and two (2) years of electrical or electronic work experience.
Electronics training or electronics work experience may be substituted for the 2-year Associates degree in Electronics.
A valid Class A CDL Driver’s License is preferred, Class B license required, the ability to pass a pre-employment driving physical, the ability to lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or more and the ability to operate equipment to which assigned is required.
Must have a working knowledge of the National Electric Code.
May be required to work early or late shifts that include weekends, to perform preventative/corrective equipment maintenance and provide assistance/direction to less experienced electricians and/or assigned helpers.
