Base salary range: $51,332 - $66,732

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves managing and teaching basic education programs for adult prisoners in a naval facility, including creating lessons on essential skills and delivering classes tailored to their needs.
It requires working with people from diverse backgrounds in a structured, policy-driven environment.
A good fit would be someone with teaching experience, especially in adult or remedial education, who is patient, organized, and comfortable in correctional settings.
You will serve as an Education Program Administrator in the Brig prisoner Adult Basic Education (ABE) program of NAVAL CONSOLIDATED BRIG MIRAMAR.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing curriculum for adult basic education courses based on developmental needs; 2) Instructing prisoners on basic education and life skills while adapting or revising courses to address various subject-matter requirements or student problems; and 3) Applying group discussion techniques and instructional techniques to motivate and teach individuals from various social skill levels and educational backgrounds.
