Do you have the ability to direct staff and resolve issues quickly? The Division of Charter Schools is looking for a Division Chief to develop policies and oversee charter school operations. This position gives you the opportunity to provide technical assistance to charter school staff members to improve educational programming, curriculum, student learning, and teacher effectiveness. Requirements

In this role, you will be directing and leading the daily activities for the Division of Charter Schools.

You will be responsible for proposing legislative policy and regulations to improve instructional delivery, directing the application review process for authorization of new cyber charter schools, as well as leading the full annual review process for each cyber charter school.

You will also have the opportunity to recommend and develop workshops, trainings, and professional development topics relevant to Charter School operations for employees and stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office on Tuesday each week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of education, including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires one year of experience providing professional education services as a supervisor in a Pennsylvania K-12 charter school setting.
