PURPOSE
To provide support for early learning and literacy, specifically, the Child Early Reading Development Education Program (CERDEP) monitoring and evaluation, data, and research.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Early Learning Specialist will play a key role in advancing early childhood education initiatives statewide. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergent literacy, professional development, and data analysis, with a proven ability to lead and foster a positive, productive work environment at the school or district level. Early Learning Specialists will coordinate and support the implementation of CERDEP programs and deliver professional development for state-wide, regional, and school-based audiences on the science of reading. Moreover, the Early Learning Specialist will model research-based teaching practices, incorporate adult learning theory, and drive continuous improvement through data collection and analysis. South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) Early Learning Specialists will travel to CERDEP schools four days per week.SCDE Early Learning Specialists must hold the following credentials:
