DSHS WSH Mental Health Program Specialist - LPN

If you are passionate about working with people experiencing severe mental illness, we have a spot for you as an On-Call Licensed Practical Nurse Mental Health Program Specialist.

In this role, you’ll serve as the lead administrative and liaison support for a unit or shift, working closely alongside a Registered Nurse 4 to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.

Some of what you'll do:
  • Conducts Single Bed Certification (SBC) and coordinates with the Residential Support Network (BHO) to ensure compliance with Washington State documentation laws.
  • Performs data entry for Nursing Administration and extracts audit data using Excel, Word, charts, and graphs.
  • Formats specialized forms for data collection, performance improvement audits, and competency tracking.
  • Prepares and formats documents for various nursing department projects as requested.
  • Maintains and updates all Nursing Department forms, files, and archives, including quarterly Code Blue Drill reports.
  • Updates policy manuals including WSH Policy Manual, SBC, RALs, and Emergency Manuals, while performing audits aligned with DOH and CMS standards.
  • Applies clinical judgment to review documentation and communicates findings to the Nurse Manager.
  • Provides administrative support to the Nurse Manager and assists with departmental operations.
  • Offers guidance and technical support for Pyxis MedStation ES and Wellsky systems, and conducts BHHA Bed Management audits.
  • Assists with scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, and administering fit testing as needed.
