DSHS FTAA MOD Facility Manager

Are you a leader in the facility management arena?

We are seeking a Facility Manager to join our team to support maintenance and operations for the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) at Behavioral Health Treatment Facility Maple Lane.

In this role, as a member of the Finance, Technology, and Analytics Administration (FTAA) Maintenance and Operations Division (MOD) team, you will be responsible for the direct management and daily supervision of the facility's operations and maintenance staff, electrical distribution, steam generation, and mechanical and equipment maintenance and repair.

You will be accountable to ensure that the building and related building support equipment are maintained at optimum service levels through monitoring, rapid response to issues, and maintaining the required skills and capacity within the team.

You will be directing and developing the facilities staff, managing the maintenance budget, and providing effective and consistent management of equipment maintenance and operations as needed.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some of what you’ll do:

  • Direct and manage the department of 47 staff including 8 direct reports, and 4 front line working supervisors
  • Plan, lead, and organize the work performed by the organization
  • Perform budget management on funds provided to minimize or eliminate any year-end overspending and assure appropriate use of the facilities resources
  • Coordination with Program and Headquarters budget staff for the development of the funds by category necessary to create Biennial budgets and fiscal year allotments
  • Direct activities focused on building compliance management, and all maintenance shops focused on electrical, water treatment, grounds, plumbing, steam generation, heating and air conditioning, and trade work to ensure work orders and preventive maintenance activities are completed within accepted timeframes
  • Direct operations of transportation and custodial services for the campus
  • Perform personnel actions as warranted in a timely manner or as required
  • Participate in all required union or labor relations activities including formal and informal demand to bargains
  • Establish and maintain a regulatory compliance program for OSHA, Fire Marshal, and other facility regulators
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) program to maximize use of staff time and organizational funding
  • Support effective communications throughout the organization

Who should apply?

  • Professionals with eight years of facility maintenance or facility management experience, at least five years of which must be in a lead, supervisory, and/or management capacity
  • Experience in planning/ managing long-range maintenance programs, budgeting, and or/ staffing
  • Experience in managing computerized maintenance management systems
  • Equivalent education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis except where there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
