DSHS BHHA Residential Services Coordinator

The State Operated Living Alternatives (SOLA) program within the Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA) is hiring a Residential Services Coordinator. If you are a passionate, detail-oriented team player and self-starter with a positive attitude, this may be the next step in your career.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in the hiring and scheduling of 24 hour/7 days a week direct care staff that work within the Yakima SOLA program located in Yakima, WA. You will also assist with employee training and ensure compliance with WAC, federal regulations, and SOLA standard operating procedures.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

The schedule for this position is Sunday - Thursday, 9:00AM - 6:00PM, with a stand-by rotation.

Some of what you'll do:
  • Determine staffing needs and schedule coverage for each home.
  • Carry the after-hours duty phone to respond to emergencies or call-outs as needed.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, and orientation of Attendant Counselor (AC) staff.
  • Schedule and monitor mandatory training completion for staff.
  • Review leave requests and inform staff about availability.
  • Complete time and attendance records for staff and respond to emergent staffing needs.
  • Facilitate ordering, purchasing, and payments for goods and services while addressing staff questions and concerns.

What we're looking for:
  • Skilled in organization and management of staff schedules.
  • Skilled in creating tracking, filing, and monitoring systems.
  • Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and proactively work to mitigate them.

Who should apply?
