The Department of Corrections is seeking dedicated and compassionate Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialists at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Mahanoy.

In this position, you will engage in entry-level professional duties focused on the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with drug and alcohol dependencies at our facility.
Responsibilities include working closely with inmates, patients, or residents to develop personalized treatment and recovery plans.
Under supervision, you will conduct one-on-one treatment sessions, provide professional counseling, and make appropriate referrals.
Assigned group therapy sessions will be led in accordance with applicable regulations, along with facilitating community meetings, encounter groups, and other therapeutic activities.
The role also involves learning to apply progressive disciplinary strategies to address behavioral issues.
Additional duties include conducting substance abuse group sessions for specialized units, managing program waiting lists, and forming treatment groups as needed across all drug and alcohol programs.
