Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.
Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Asset and Administrative Management Division located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
Experience: You qualify for the 13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Assisting with the development of guidance, procedures, and recommendations for managing the full scope of secure logistics distribution center operations.
Performing routine inspections of warehouse grounds, equipment, and operations. Assisting in the preparation of statements of work and independent government cost estimates.
Recommending corrective actions and assisting in the development of action plans to improve program performance.

In this Distribution Facilities Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals involved in managing the receipt, storage, and shipment of printed materials and other items at the National Distribution Center (NDC) in support of CBP operational and administrative needs.
Typical work assignments include: Developing guidance, procedures, and recommendations for managing the full scope of secure logistics distribution center operations.
Tracking overall performance of warehousing and shipping operations to ensure materials are moved in accordance with established timelines.
Monitoring vendor work progress, schedules, invoices, and production quality to manage vendor performance, mitigate risk, drive continuous improvement, and increase business partner satisfaction.
Verifying the National Distribution Center (NDC) conformance to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and other guidelines.
Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data to evaluate NDC effectiveness and efficiency and to identify process improvement opportunities.
