Full Job Description

The Director of Sponsored Projects isa strategic and service-oriented position tasked to lead and expand the university’s research and sponsored programs enterprise. Lander is a public university with approximately 4,600 students and $6 million in active sponsored and other external projects. The university is committed to growing faculty scholarship and external funding activity to support its mission and enhance academic excellence. The Director will oversee the full lifecycle of externally funded grants and contracts - from proposal development through post-award administration - and foster a campus-wide culture of research, scholarly activity, and innovation. This is a pivotal Leadership role in building institutional infrastructure, training faculty, and developing policies to support externally funded programs.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required with at least five years of responsible experience in sponsored programs or research administration. In-depth knowledge of major federal funding agencies (e.g.

NSF, NIH, DOE, NEH) with a strong understanding of federal compliance requirements (e.g. OMB Uniform Guidance). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required.

A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.

Qualifications

Master’s degree.
