This job involves leading inspections, audits, and evaluations in the Air National Guard to ensure units are effective and compliant with policies, while analyzing data to spot trends and advising commanders on fixes.
It also includes training staff on readiness and coordinating exercises with other units.

114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA). This position is part of the District of Columbia National Guard under Position Description Number NGT5867000..

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; knowledge of applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures; skill in interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening; ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects; skill in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws; ability to enunciate without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communications; ability to write reports and presentation formats; and ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One -year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed.
Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Major Duties:
***This is a Title 5 Excepted Service National Guard Employee Position*** This position is located in an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing Inspector General (IG) Office.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the focal point for interpreting, developing, and implementing Air Force inspection policy and wing-level long-range strategic plans.
Provides direction and oversight of internal and external inspections, audits, evaluations, reviews, exercises, and analyses to determine unit effectiveness and efficiency.
Ensures operational, contingency, and mobilization plans adhere to policy and direct the effective use of wing resources.
Duties: Responsible for organizing and analyzing data from inspections and exercises across the DoD with the goal of identifying and communicating trends.
Through trend identification and analysis, communicate data throughout the wing to commanders and unit self-assessment program managers for possible inclusion in their individual unit programs to determine compliance.
Function as the subject matter expert (SME) for waiver determination, writing, and submittal to the appropriate approval authority with commander's concurrence.
During deficiency management, will discuss the waiver process with commanders and provide different courses of action for commanders to make decisions.
Serve as a qualified complaint resolution representative providing advisory services to individuals, other staff offices, managers, supervisors, and employees concerning the IG program and processes.
Delivers training to review the status of compliance and readiness of their organization, additionally, RBSS techniques will be examined and how they can be incorporated to best utilize their available resources.
Additionally, provided training will demonstrate the use of available tools to help define any deficiencies and then different courses of action when a deficiency is identified within the wing.
Lead coordination efforts across multiple units and services to leverage their strengths and capabilities to enhance unit exercises.
Coordinate with exercise partners to find methods and scenario injects to enhance guest units' training/exercise opportunities. Performs all other duties as assigned.
