About the Position:
The Deputy State Fire Marshal 2 for the Fire Training Academy is responsible for developing and implementing curriculum, managing the delivery of classroom and practical firefighting training in accordance with established lesson plans ensuring adherence to current standards and requirements.
Follows and enforces all safety regulations and policies ensuring a safe work environment is maintained.
Works with staff and contract instructors to help implement, instruct, and schedule all training at the FTA. Works with maintenance staff to ensure safe operation of all props.
About the Division:
The Fire Training Division is one of two divisions within the Fire Protection Bureau. Outside of the Washington State Patrol, the FTD is known as the Fire Training Academy.
The FTA operates a 51-acre live fire training facility located in North Bend, Washington and provides classroom, hands-on, and live fire training to the fire service, the military, law enforcement and other safety and industrial professionals.
The FTA also coordinates and administers the Regional Direct Delivery which provides basic firefighter training to volunteers throughout the state in the communities they serve.
