Summary

This job involves leading the development and implementation of strategies for cyber operations within the U.S.

military's cyber defense efforts, ensuring policies align with broader organizational goals.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of experience at the GG-14 level or equivalent in developing or implementing cyberspace operational strategies, such as military plans, contingency plans, or continuity of operations

  • Skills in establishing systems and programs to monitor task accomplishment and organizational efficiency

  • Proficiency in overseeing preparation and execution of senior-level reports, briefings, and strategic guidance documents
  • Experience supervising mentorship and career development for civilian staff as a senior civilian and career plan manager

Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DOD CYBER DEFENSE COMMAND (DCDC)-JH95.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

Qualifying experience is defined as: A leader in developing or implementing cyberspace operational strategies (i.e.

military plans (campaign or contingency), theater security cooperation plans, Continuity of Operations, strategic engagement) that support and align with an organization's cyberspace missions and initiatives.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

  • Promote awareness of cyberspace operation policy and strategy as appropriate among senior leaders and ensure sound principles are reflected in the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
  • Establish internal systems, programs, and controls as necessary to monitor task accomplishment in order to promote an efficient, effective, and progressive organization.
  • Coordinate the efforts of Directorate for Future Plans in policy development; preparation of plans and guidance; and evaluation of program performance in support of strategic objectives and achievement of desired regional effects.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of senior level reports/briefings on strategy, strategic issues, and strategic guidance documents submitted to the directorate for comment or review.
  • Act as directorate senior civilian and Activity Career Plan Manager. Supervise mentorship and career development for civilians.
