The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a Personnel Readiness manager for personnel deployment functions.
To serve as the primary for all personnel accountability issues prior to, during and after any evacuation due to natural disaster or national emergency.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Working with Deployment Readiness functions and all applicable programs related to the readiness of military personnel; to include, but not limited to READY, SORTS, Health Management, ART reporting, and all ancillary training requirements; (2) providing accountability procedures and requirements in support of an evacuation of base personnel; (3) using principles, concepts, techniques, standards, processes and guides of military personnel management; and (4) working with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, ACCESS and Power Point).
OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the Deployment Readiness functions and all applicable programs related to the readiness of military personnel; to include, but not limited to READY, SORTS, Health Management, ART reporting, and all ancillary training requirements 2.
Knowledge of accountability procedures and requirements in support of an evacuation of base personnel. 3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, with expertise in Word, EXCEL, ACCESS and Power Point.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and written, in working solutions to problems. 5.
Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical/evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound decisions.
6, Ability to develop improvements in and design new personnel work methods and procedures using Microsoft software provided.
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, techniques, standards, processes and guides of military personnel management.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Deployment Readiness Manager. Manages personnel deployment functions for active-duty base personnel.
Manages the personnel deployment readiness requirements; to include, but not limited to, the ancillary training requirements, out-processing requirements, in-processing requirements and specific deployment location requirements of tasked personnel.
HESS Evacuation Team Manger: To provide daily support to the Military Personnel Flight (MPF) Hurricane Evacuation Support Staff (HESS) Team.
Manages the accountability drills tasked by the base and/or higher headquarters personnel. Acts as alternate Personnel Systems Manager for the MPF.
In the absence of the primary and to assist the primary Personnel Systems Management (PSM), the alternate is responsible for administration of all aspects of the military personnel data systems.
These systems include, but are not limited to; Military Personnel Data System (MILPDS), Defense Integrated Military Human Resource System (DIMHRS), Personnel Concept II (PC-III), DISCOVERER retrieval database, Automated Records Management Systems (ARMS), Case Management System (CMS), Defense Finance Accounting System (DFAS), Transaction Register (TR) Database, Management Assessment Products (MAPS) Database, Enterprise Output Manager (EOM) print server database and any future databases or applications interfacing with the military personnel data systems.
