This role supports child welfare teams in Michigan's Health and Human Services department by handling administrative tasks, tracking services, and ensuring programs run smoothly to help families achieve stable, permanent homes for children.
It involves reviewing policies, compiling data, and providing technical help, especially with data analysis tools at higher levels.
A good fit would be someone detail-oriented with experience in social services or data handling, who enjoys supporting teams in meaningful public work.

ExperienceOne year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service.
Departmental Technician 8One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.
Departmental Technician E9One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.

This position will be filled at one of the following levels, based on the preferred candidate’s qualifications: Departmental Technician 7, 8, E9, or 10.
The physical location of this position is 3040 W. Grand Blvd, Ste 5-100, Detroit, MI 48202.
Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications.
