Job Description

Summary

This job involves serving as an expert in the Senior Medicare Patrol program, handling complex investigations into ongoing Medicare fraud, and supporting grantees with education, outreach, and budget management.

This position functions as the recognized resource for the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program with responsibility for the most complex Medicare fraud casework, investigations, and analysis involving individuals experiencing ongoing, long-term fraud.

This position provides grant management and technical assistant to large Medicare fraud outreach and education grantees on program activities and budget matters.

    Education
    Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.

    Experience
    Departmental Analyst 12 - Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

    Qualifications

    Departmental Analyst 9 - 12 - Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

    The physical location of this position is 333 S. Grand Ave, Lansing, MI 48933. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

    Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
    • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
    • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
    • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
    As a Condition of Employment: this position requires successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal records check.
