Full Job Description
The Department Head reports to the Dean of Nursing and is assigned to teach courses in his/her field of expertise, to include medical -surgical nursing. The Department Head is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of curriculum, evaluating personnel and maintaining the educational integrity of the program within his/her academic purview.Requirements
This position requires a master's of science in nursing, with a master's degree in nursing education preferred. Applicants who have an MSN in an area other than nursing education will be required to complete a post-master's certificate in nursing education within three (3) years of hire or successfully complete the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) examination within three (3) years of hire. Candidates must also have a current SC RN license and a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in an associateQualifications
Candidates must have exemplary involvement in: implementing nursing curricula through TTC procedures; leading divisional improvement projects; and designing and implementing evidence-based projects. Candidates must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. This position requires a high degree of accountability, creativity and professional discipline to work independently.
