One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Providing guidance on time and labor processes to employees, supervisors, and timekeepers to resolve access issues and oversee account management OR submitting Proxy User Management requests, processing role requests, and generating time and attendance ad-hoc queries.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Processes payroll System Data Automation (SDA) files for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) Defense Civil Payroll System (DCPS). This covers three payroll databases, including all timecard labor data and employee tour of duty changes.
  • Upon request, generates employee timecards at the DISA, Organization, or employee level utilizing the DAI OTL Automated Timecard Generator (ATG) process.
  • Generates various complex reports and documents in support of audit requests of leave, pay, and labor hour data. Prepares a variety of highly detailed reports using extensive knowledge of past and future requirements.
  • Receives and examines for accuracy, complex payroll authorization documents to include -- but not limited to -- leave restoration authorization forms, payroll allotments, employee organization deductions, and retroactive timecards.
  • Coordinates with the DISA Payroll Team to ensure the appropriate entries are submitted to DCPS.
  • Provides timely customer service and completes correspondence (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares emails and letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to civilian pay.
