This internship involves helping the Human Resources team in Long Beach analyze and manage data for their employee systems, creating reports, and supporting various projects to improve operations.
It's a temporary role focused on learning and contributing to HR processes like tracking trends and preparing documents.
A good fit would be a current or recent college student in fields like business or public administration who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with data, and wants hands-on experience in government HR.
THE POSITIONCollaborate closely with the HR Systems Management Manager & Officer to manage day-to-day tasks and contribute to the division's operational efficiency.Contribute to diverse projects by conducting research, surveys, and presentations centered around HR Systems.Assist in data analysis projects aimed at uncovering trends and patterns that inform decision-making.
Offer valuable support to staff by producing a diverse array of reports through proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and ExcelAid in the preparation of memorandums and presentation, contributing to the bureau's communication and documentation efforts with both internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate actively with staff members on ongoing projects, providing assistance and ensuring successful project outcomes.Creates and maintain documentation of processes, enhancing clarity and accessibility.
Providing recommendations for business process improvement when necessary. Maintain and update the Bureau’s project roadmap.
Track project progress along with due dates assigned to deliverables.Attend meetings, actively participate by offering insights, recording minutes, and providing valuable input.Assists in identifying the latest trends in HR systems, ensuring the bureau remains current and forward-looking.Responds to inquiries from the public, vendors, and outside agencies.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications EDUCATION:Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a major in public administration, political science, business administration, human resources management, or related fields from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.0 or higher (proof required).
