This job involves creating and delivering training programs for staff at child and youth centers on a military base to support kids' growth and development.
It requires planning workshops, both in classrooms and on the job, while following all relevant rules and standards.
A good fit would be someone with a background in child education or development who enjoys teaching adults and has hands-on experience working with children in similar programs.
This position is located at the Child Development Center and School Age Center, Fort Hood, TX.
Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Available to CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours).

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying).Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in child development (including directly related behavioral science), childhood education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled consistent with: For positions in CDC, FCC or CLEOS - Early Childhood Education, Child Development and/or Elementary Education.
For positions in SAS - Early Childhood/Child Development; Youth Development; Elementary Education, and/or Secondary Education.
OR Combination of education and experience as follows: Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in an appropriate CYS field commensurate with the program assigned as indicated above, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described in the fields appropriate to the position.
Appropriate experience and course work must be comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above.
In addition to meeting one of the requirements above candidate must possess: 1. At least twelve (12) months of experience working in child and youth programs. 2.
At least one year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.
3. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. 4.
Experience in planning and conducting training for child and youth staff.5. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Bachelor's Degree with 24 hours of Early Childhood Education Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Child & Youth Services Experience facilitating community partnerships with child care agencies and school districts Experience in identifying trends in child and youth development and preparing reports based on analysis Minimum of 3 years of experience working with a National Credentialing body (Example: COA, NAEYC) The experience and knowledge listed above MUST be reflected on your resume to be considered a Highly Preferred candidate.
