Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and coordinating cyber operations for the military, including creating detailed contingency plans, analyzing technical needs, and leading group discussions to integrate cyber strategies into broader defense efforts.

The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to present ideas to senior leaders.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of experience at the GG-12 level equivalent, including developing contingency or campaign plans
  • Proven ability to provide technical analysis and recommendations for operational requirements in cyberspace
  • Experience integrating cyberspace operations, doctrine, and tactics into joint military plans
  • Active participation or leadership in joint planning groups to develop courses of action
  • Current employment within the Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC), with proof via recent SF-50
  • Familiarity with creating products like COA briefings, decision papers, and presenting to leadership
  • Skills in evaluating program progress, identifying deficiencies, and directing corrective actions

Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DKAAJH-JH9352.

Please Note: This announcement is open to current Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) employees only. You MUST provide a recent SF-50 showing your are currently employed within the DCDC.

You will render an ineligible rating if you do not provide the SF-50 showing that you are employed within the DCDC.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Developing contingency or campaign plans, providing crucial technical analysis and recommendations for operational requirements, integrating cyberspace operations, doctrine, and tactics into joint plans, and actively leading or participating in joint planning groups to develop effective courses of action.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

  • Develops contingency plans (BPLAN, CONPLAN, OPLAN) using GFMIG forces. Creates associated products like COA briefings, decision papers, and presents plans to leadership.
  • Evaluates program progress, identifies deficiencies, and directs corrective action to meet objectives.
  • Coordinates administrative and logistical support for conferences and events. Prepares agendas, briefings, and synchronizes event calendars while resolving conflicts with senior officials.
  • Oversees contingency plan development and crisis action planning. Integrates and synchronizes cyberspace operations/warfare (CO/CW) doctrine, TTPs, and activities into campaign plans.
  • Participates in and chairs Joint Planning Groups (JPGs) to develop viable cyberspace options. Provides analysis, recommendations, and strategic guidance for effective cyber operations.
