Job Duties:


The Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant, under supervision of the assigned caseworker, provides services to remedy abuse, neglect, exploitations or self-neglect of adults or children unable to protect themselves.

CWS Case Manager Assistant will assist CWS Case Manager's with providing casework services in the area of Assessment, Family Preservation and Foster Care.


  • Collaborates with county and regional adoption staff to transport children to and from visitations, placements, court hearings and medical appointments and documenting work activity.

  • Works collaboratively with child welfare staff in performing administrative tasks in accordance with DSS Policy, Agency Mission and GPS Practice Model to support families and other professionals/agency partners. Tasks can include concerted efforts and family searches and engagements.

  • Authentically engages families and other professionals with empathy and support.

  • Completes all necessary training for regional support tasks.

  • Maintains an active routine of self-care and pursues support when necessary to minimize the threat of secondary trauma to physical and mental health.

  • Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of relevant experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business, business administration, or general business.

An Associate or Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for part or all of work experience.
