DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Solid Waste Management Department (SWM) is seeking a Customer Service Representative III who uses knowledge and problem-solving techniques to provide general information and customer assistance to internal and external customers.
The responsibilities are as follows:- Compute, authorize, and prepare documentation for adjustments to customers' accounts.
- Collects data and requests field investigations.
- Research and review bill inquiries by using computer and/or microfiche.
- Prepare written records of proceedings, as well as original correspondence to customers.
- Maintain up-to-date developments relevant to the operations.
- Other duties, as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONSWork consists of standard procedures and tasks where basic analytic ability is required. As in the comparison of numbers and simple facts in the selecting the correct action. The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and /or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.
Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSRequires a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSThree years of administrative or customer service-related experience are required.
Associate's degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the years of experience.
Qualifications
*Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
The preferred candidate should have at least 2-3 years of basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
