Requirements

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Service is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Customer Service Assistant. Following the directives of the designated supervisor, the individual is tasked with providing customer service and administrative support for the assigned department. This role is centered on providing services, information, and support to the public, while also managing daily tasks such as handling mail, phone communications, filing, registration, fee collection, counter assistance, and data entry administrative functions for the designated department The Customer Service Assistant may issue work instructions or provide direction to volunteers and other personnel as designated.


We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
• Ashburn Recreation & Community Center, Ashburn, VA


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Delivers polite and prompt customer service to County personnel, vendors, citizens, and other visitors; directs customers to the relevant staff.
• Manages participant files and records as necessary for the oversight and assessment of the program.
• Oversees telephone communications within the office.
• May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

Salary commensurate with experience.


Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of related work experience in a clerical position involving contact with the public and working with automated systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Recreation or Leisure Studies or related field and one (1) year of experience in customer service and/or front desk operations.
• One year of experience working in a recreation center or community center setting.
• Experience working RecTrac Point-of-Sale System.
• CPRP- Certified Park & Recreation Professional.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.

Additional Information

Must undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. For DMV check, valid driver's license and good driving record required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification)

*This position functions as the Customer Service Specialist during the Mid-Day shift. Mid-Day shifts occur on weekdays and weekends from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The weekly schedule will either be Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday. The work schedule can change based on operational hours and will cover both weekdays and weekends to satisfy business demands and manage periods of heightened facility usage. *
