What you will be doing:

The successful candidate will aid probation staff in the monitoring of adult defendants reporting to the Department of Corrections.

This position is responsible for maintaining records, greeting offenders, filing violation reports, working in law enforcement data base's such as APSIN and ACOMS and conducting urinalyses and portable breath tests.

In this role your communication and people skills will be constantly challenged by the ever-evolving criminal justice system.

Criminal Justice Technician 2
Successful completion of training under a formally established Criminal Justice Technician 1-2 flexible staffing training plan with the State of Alaska;

This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidate’s credibly possessed and proven competencies. If hired at the lower level, you will be promoted to the higher level after completing the training plan and demonstrating competency in the work.

CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECKS/APSIN/ACOMS

Please be aware – this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS).

A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS.

DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice.

Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.


FINGERPRINT NOTICE
