Summary

This job involves helping manage and support a federal system for tracking disaster recovery grants, including analyzing data, creating reports, and providing training to staff and grant recipients to ensure smooth operations after disasters.

Key Requirements

  • Experience evaluating Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) or similar programs using data analysis to resolve quality issues
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools and automated data processing programs
  • Skills in generating data reports for management and maintaining/modifying system software to support operations

This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Planning and Development, Office of Disaster Recovery.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes: Working with and providing technical assistance on the Disaster Recovery Grant Reporting (DRGR) system or similar grant management systems to evaluate the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery, or similar programs, using data analysis to analyze information and resolve quality issues; AND Familiarity with business intelligence and automated data processing programs, and experience generating data reports for management and maintaining, modifying and adapting system software approaches to support program operations.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Working with and providing technical assistance on the Disaster Recovery Grant Reporting (DRGR) system or similar grant management systems to evaluate the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery, or similar programs, using data analysis to analyze information and resolve quality issues; AND Familiarity with business intelligence and automated data processing programs, including experience generating data reports for management and maintaining system software approaches to support program operations.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13.

If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As a CPD Specialist (DRGR), you will: Initiate, design, compile and retrieve data used in statistical analysis and report information requested by senior level management, consult with program managers on the creation of management reports, conduct analyses, and also provide training and/or technical assistance to CPD staff and grantee staff on DRGR and related applications.

Work with DRGR users and help desk staff to resolve any user problems and assures that all systems users are aware of system capabilities, and that each user is able to perform system functions and date analysis, as needed.

Develop and deliver training and technical assistance on DRGR and related grant management systems/data, as needed.
