Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of caseworkers in a county children and youth services agency, where you'll supervise investigations into child abuse and neglect, guide staff on cases, and provide training and support to families and foster parents.

It's a hands-on leadership role focused on protecting vulnerable kids and strengthening families in the community.

Key Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work
  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or equivalent combination including 12 college credits in these areas
  • Direct knowledge of laws and regulations governing child welfare services, including state and federal compliance
  • Valid driver's license not under suspension
  • Meet Pennsylvania residency requirements
  • Ability to pass criminal history checks: PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
  • Full-time availability for 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday schedule with no telework option

Lebanon County Children & Youth Services is actively seeking a Casework Supervisor to round out our staff. Requirements

In this role, you will provide direct supervision to both the unit and the individual caseworkers within the unit.

it is essential you have direct knowledge of laws and regulations which govern child welfare services and ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations and Agency policies and procedures.

You can expect to meet weekly with individual case workers to review cases and provide guidance for on-going services.

You will have the opportunity to provide orientation training for new and already approved foster parents in addition to providing case management and counseling services to children, youth, and family members as needed.

Responsibilities include overseeing and monitoring investigations of suspected child abuse and neglect cases.

This position maintains reports and assists in preparing an appropriate Needs Based Budget based on unit needs.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.


Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
